Reinstate footbridge end malling railway cutting

The railway cutting at Malling is an under used nature reserve. A footbridge over the Ouse at the Northern end replacing the one blown up by the army would link to a lovely circular walk, Hamsey back to Lewes along the river bank. Perhaps the army could help put it back up!

Points

Lewes needs to spend more attention on its over-looked river. We are the jewel of the South Downs and projects like these improve our unique town. Can't say any more really. If you haven't walked along this cutting then do so. The abrupt end by the river is frustrating and feels like a keep out sign.

I think this is a great idea. It would probably need access permission at the northern end, and I guess Hamsey residents might not be too wild about the idea, but definitely worth investigating.
