English proficiency will be a major issue for 100,000s of applicants to settled status, in addition to personal circumstances and eligibility criteria. I propose to work with Sonia to develop a mobile phone app to circumvent this problem. The app will be similar to Sim City. The user create an avatar before going through a life journey leading to settled status. It will be graphical so English proficiency issues will be addressed and translated in all European languages.
